Sometime disoovering a wonderfull project after it ran for 3 years make me feel stupid, this is typically what happened when I discovered this one The Sphere project is meant to be a permanent contest with no price but much pride (if you make it to the homepage) on the Sphere thema. It has been initiated by Richard Rosenman et Michael Kocurek. The principle is amazingly simple: illustrate the sphere thema in CG using any kind of software.

Great Banners on Stash Media

Stash media has opened ( for a long time I guess ) a contest to design some banner for the feed website. I'm not sure those banners are really being used as "feed" seems to have moved away from "stashmedia" domain , but well you can take a look at them there :

Well this is not a discovery for many of you , and yugo as not updated his website for a while now. But If you have never been there just run and have Fun playing with his multiple interface, make sure to dig into his archives too, as they're probably the best part of the site.

Happy New Year and important update concerning this blog

First, I wish you a very good year in 2008, full of success and happyness and love and anything you wish ... I am really not good at this sort of thing, sorry ...

This past week low activity was due to the rebuilding of the blog (almost transparent, I hope) to separate the French version from the English one.

The only difference that this will create for you will normally be limited to RSS. One more time I strongly encourage you to suscribe to the RSS feed if you want to keep informed regularly about this blog.

Even if you do not read the remainder of this note, do not forget to upgrade your subscription to the RSS and remove the old thread.

Moving to a multiblog authorize me to introduce two feeds (one for each language) instead of a single thread containing posts in both languages. I think it will be easier for everyone and will give me a way to control better how readers reacts to the blog depending if they're French or English Speaking (so far in terms of comments counts, French readers are well ahead:)). Please notice than the previous RSS feed, containing both languages, will no longer be updated after this post. Here is the steps to follow:

For newsletter subscribers : you have to re-enter your email to the form in the right column and unsuscribe the old newsletter.

Of course same thing for favorites or bookmarks: it would be wise to upgrade them with the new URL.

Finally just a few words in order to encourage you using social bookmarking websites appearing just below the ticket (Digg, Stumble Upon, Del.icio.us, Scoopeo, Fuzz and others). Indeed, if you use one of these sites, and that you appreciate the content of the blog, I will be very grateful for a little help to promote the blog and distribute it.

I emphasize that these sites are not full of spyware, ads and other recurring pop up windows, it is just a tool helping the spread of the site and blogs Ladies gentlemen, please feel free to Digg, Stumble, Technorate etc ... I'm not talking about the ads below , huh! But well if you please to make me rich I can't stop you;)

As much as I like social media websites such as Flickr, I really hate their interface / navigation. You might think I should probably work on my website before judging and you're right :). But that tool to browse Flicker's pictures is really fitting my needs and maybe it will fit yours.

Stop bookmarking, start RSS feeding !!

Any RSS Feed user, you can skip this post, even though I encourage you to suscribe to my feed.

Well don't stop bookmarking blogs right away, But there is another way to follow your favorite blogs simply because their content is separated from the layout. That give us an opportunity to use different themes / colors / layout easily, and also to share the content of every post through a "RSS Feed"

So , what is a RSS feed ???

RSS Feeds are contained in a XML file which is embedding the mainstream of any entry published on a blog. ( text, link to pictures or videos) This file is using the simplest layout possible and can be easily shared or altered in order to be distributed outside of the main blog. To take advantage of that you need a RSS reader application which will offer the option to suscribe to as many blog as you want. This way you will get a direct access to all your prefered blog in one place and without relying on a tons of bookmarks that you might be tired to check regularly. The RSS reader will keep you updated about any new entry published on your favorite blogs , on top of that the publisher will know how many people are really reading his publications.

All of them have an icon on the right navigation panel of this blog. I prefer to use Google reader , not only because I'm a google addict, but also because you can easily add it to your iGoogle homepage. Ok I'm a google addict.

Another solution is to click the "entries feed" in my navigation bar, that will pop up a window with a maximum of options to suscribe.

Only problem I had for now : both english and french version of the posts are published in the same feed. I'm trying to get that fix soon.

Voila, sorry for writing such a long post about a technology that many are already using, but for those who doesn't know about RSS I think it might be helpfull.
